Text Box: Day 5
The walk on the fifth day began with a walk three times around the Courthouse in Walnut Ridge. Then the walk turned south on business US 67 through Walnut Ridge and Hoxie Arkansas to just south of the US 63 bypass.
At the parking lot where I had parked the vehicle David was there waiting on me and the Cross to join in the walk. A few blocks south of there was as convenience store where we stopped to relieve ourselves and get some water for the day. While David was inside the store a lady walk over to the Cross with an offering, her name was Linda and her husband was putting gas in their vehicle. The next car that stopped was Beth and Lisa from the last day’s walk. This was the third time they had stopped. They were excited about the Cross going through their city.
A State Policeman stopped while the Cross was at the convenience store. He was born-again and a blessing to talk with. Before he left I blessed him and prayed for him. This is always a blessing to minister to law-officers. When some stop to check my ID this usually gives me a chance to at least pray for them.
While walking though a supermarket parking lot a lady came up to the Cross her name was Betty. She went to an Assembly of God Church. Betty did missionary work in the United States. Not all missionary work is overseas there is missionary work for a believer to do here in the United States of America.
At the south end of the parking lot Amildred stopped just to bless the work of God.
Just as the Cross stopped after crossing a set of rail road tracks and the street next to it I stopped to rest. A man working on the track came to where the Cross was and gave and offering the men working on the tracks wanted to give. He couldn’t stay because he was working. The men were from out of town.
I went into the convenience store at that corner to relieve myself and get some juice. While in the store and in the lot several people stopped me to say thanks and what a blessing it was to see someone carrying the Cross.
Walking in towns and cities without sidewalks is hard. The grass pulls on the Cross and the Cross when it comes to a curb has to be pulled up the curb. Sometimes the grass is at an angle this also makes pulling the Cross harder. All this uses more energy and strength. But sometimes it is the LORD who says where and when to stop and rest. He does this in many different ways.
As I look down the street I saw a place where it would be a good place to stop and rest a few minutes. All I had seen was a good place to stop and rest I didn’t know what was there. When the Cross came to the stopping place it was in front of a funeral home and there was funeral in process. Some people began to come out of the funeral home. Some who passed by the Cross just looked at it. Some spoke a blessing and some stopped to talk. A couple of men who stopped asked several questions that seemed to be aggressive in their tone of voice.
The next time we stopped was at the O’ Hickory Restaurant to eat. While eating a couple of people asked questions and said they were blessed by seeing the Cross.
A few blocks later just before the Cross left Hoxie, David and I met the Mayor of Hoxie. We talked about how Christian should be the government. And everyone who is part of the government should be called by God and not be there just because they want the power or prestige or even because of money. Many Christians have been taught that they are not to part of the government. This is a lie from the pits of hell and the ones who want to destroy this nation.
David decided to walk back to the vehicle and bring it to where we were going to stop for the day. David walked fast and got to the vehicle quickly.
Just as I left Hoxie a young man stopped in a pick-up he was blessed by seeing the Cross. He was in a hurry because he had to get back to work so he didn’t stay long.
When I reached the place where I was to met up with David a car stopped. It was Linda and Joan. They stopped to bless the work of God. As I was blessing them David pulled up with the vehicle, they left as David was parking the vehicle.
As I carried the Cross to the vehicle another car stopped. It was a couple with their two sons. They were going to a weekend seminar. After ministering to them they left for the seminar.
End of fifth day.
