The 2001 walk crusade started in Kokomo, Indiana on May 5th. The walk went north on U.S. 31. Near Plymouth, IN the walk went east from U.S. 31 through Goshen and Elkhart, Indiana as the Holy Spirit directed. From Elkhart the walk basically went along U.S. 20 to Dubuque, Iowa. South Bend, IN and Northwest Indiana was long U.S.20. The walk took a short detour to La Porte, IN before reaching Northwest Indiana. Chicago, IL was the largest metropolitan area the walk went through long U.S.20. Elgin and Rockford was walked through along U.S. 20. The walk went through Freeport, IL on the way to Dubuque, IA.
From Dubuque, IA the walk turned north toward La Crosse, WI on U.S.61. The walk went through the towns of Lancaster and Viroqua and several small towns and villages also.
At La Crosse the walk followed U.S.14 across the Mississippi River to Winona, MN where. U.S.14 turned west to Rochester, MN. The walk connected with U.S.63 in Rochester, MN and went south on U.S.61 to Waterloo, IA., Spring Valley, MN was a major town on U.S.63 in Minnesota. New Hampton, IA was a major town along the way to Waterloo, IA.
The walk took a detour to Waverly, IA then walked went south on U.S. 218 into and through Waterloo, IA. U.S. 218 was the Highway the walk took south to Mt. Pleasant, IA. Vinton, IA was a major town between Waterloo and Cedar Rapids, IA. The walk continued south on U.S.218 through Iowa City. Between Iowa City and Mt. Pleasant the town of Washington, IA was visited. The walk did not detour to there, but I drove there for a revival. One day during the revival the Cross was walked through Washington, IA.
